Winnie the Pooh® Holiday Villages and TrainsA.A. Milne's beloved Winnie the Pooh has enchanted children of all ages for almost a century. I was young when Disney® made the first Winnie the Pooh movie, and my children have seen many of the movies and specials over the years. But there's still something uniquely charming about a bear named Pooh who lives in the Hundred Acre Woods under the name of Sanders. (That is, the name of Sanders is written over the door of Pooh's house, and Pooh lives under it.)Collectibles Today® and Hawthorne Village® have offered collectibles featuring Winnie the Pooh in the past, including a quality train set collection that is shown on this page. In 2008, Hawthorne Village added a Halloween set that has been very popular in the short time it has been available as well. If you want the ultimate family-friendly Halloween village decoration, this is it. Note: Although your children may love these sets, the Disney® villages are not toys, but heirloom-quality collector's items - in other words, they're "toys for big people." I post this only because small fry find them irresistable, so you need to be careful to keep them out of reach of small children, or anyone likely to wander off with the figurines or accessories, as my kids were prone to do when they were little. Most of the products on this page are available by subscription, which means that you sign up for them like you would a magazine and get a package about every four weeks for the next four months. For more information on subscription trains, please refer to the "About Subscription Trains" article. Every piece is exquisitely detailed and warranteed for one year against manufacturing defects by Hawthorne Village®. In addition, the mechanical parts of the trains shown on this page are manufactured and warranteed by Bachmann®, one of the world's largest model railroad manufacturer. So parts, service, and accessories will always be available. Although service will always be available, it is worth noting that the products on this page will not. Most of them are "limited runs" which will be discontinued after the initial "run" of products is completed. In most cases, this means that the time will come when these trains and villages are unavailable except from other collectors who will demand a huge profit. (A good number of the e-mails we receive about these products ask us to track down trains that are no longer available, so as Dave Barry used to say, we're not making this up!)
Note about Deadlines: These issues arrive about once a month, so the earlier you get started the more you will have to display this holiday season.
