J. Powell's Ad Sign Collection - Hosted by Family Garden Trains™Note from editor: James Powell is known to many model railroaders because of his unique Wiscassest, Trevino & Western (WT&W) model railroad. For a while, Jim also ran a business making wooden building kits for model railroaders. To help folks dress up their buildings, Jim printed business signs out on thin sheets of wood that could be cut easily and pasted onto buildings. Although the business did not last, the signs did. When Jim put up a web site about his trains, he posted scans of those business sign for other model railroaders to download and use. We have created new preview "thumbnails" and reorganized Jim's collection a little to make it easy to use. But the big files are Jim's original work. Thanks again, Mr. Powell, for making this resource available. Now for Jim's own words: Dress up your buildings!Welcome to the WT&W ad sign exchange! From here you can download, for free, the same ads we use on our buildings on the WT&W! We have a huge library of ad signs from our former company, DP Industries. Instead of letting them all rot away in storage, we figured we'd share them all with you! Click on the thumbnail image to view the full size image. The full size images are very large, but in order for you to be able to print them out full size, they have to be. Note: For very fine quality signs, try downloading the big image, then reducing the size as you print them out. If you are working in a scale that will allow you to reduce the size of these signs by 50%, they should come out even better than they do now! Note from Editor: - If you plan to resize any graphics on this page within a graphics program such as PaintShop Pro, try "increasing the color depth" to 24 bit/16 million colors (You could resave as .jpg files if you wished and retain the "color depth" in the new file.) The resized graphics will look much better. We haven't done that for you because we wanted to keep James' graphics as close to his original as possible, and it would have increased file sizes even more. - Paul |
